Renovation Project at Daughters of Sarah
Albany, NY

The existing 200-bed Long Term Care Facility was constructed in 1971 and is being completely renovated to utilize space more efficiently and to provide a comfortable and safe residential environment for residents and staff.

The main Commons area of the building is designed to create a town-like setting and will act as a focal point to unite the community.   As part of the renovation project, additional dining areas, revamping of resident corridors, lounge areas, nursing stations and exterior improvements, will all serve to enhance the living environment for the community.

One of the major challenges in this project will be to maintain the facility in full operation during the construction.  As a result, ten different phases of construction will be part of the project over a two-year duration to ensure a livable atmosphere for the residents during this time.

Size: 160,000 sq. ft.
Anticipated Completion: 2005
